Clyde Shanks was appointed in 2017 to advise Royal Portrush Golf Club on a planning application strategy to secure further protection to its 5^th green and 6^th tee area.  The existing coastal defence on the Whiterocks beach has been in place since 1983 and has helped to maintain the duneland and offset coastal erosion.  We have co-ordinated input from engineers RPS, ecologists STRI and Ecology Solutions and submitted an Environmental Statement to Causeway Coast and Glens Council following a scoping with DEARA marine and Fisheries Division.  A decision is anticipated in summer 2019.
