This major application was the subject of PAN, PAD and PACC with an online consultation magazine prepared to explain the proposals. The application went through a series of design iterations by scheme architect Todd before securing a recommendation to approve a 77-unit design was endorsed by Belfast City Council’s planning committee in January 2024. The application required a series of submissions to address compliance with BCC’s Plan Strategy which was adopted in May 2023 including a comprehensive viability assessment prepared by Savills addressing Policy HOU5 and related supplementary planning guidance. It is the subject of a section 76 legal agreement between the applicant and BCC which is presently being prepared. The development will provide important and necessary new living accommodation in Belfast city centre.
