Clyde Shanks has been retained planning adviser to the Becon Consortium in managing all aspects of the planning process for arc 21’s proposed £250million residual waste management facility.

We secured recommendation to approve from DoE Strategic Projects team and endorsement from all of its consultees in July 2015.  The Minister subsequently rejected this and issued a notice of opinion to refuse.  Following a hearing the PAC recommended approval in March 2017.  DfI issued planning permission and it was the subject of a successful judicial review.

Further environmental information has been submitted in early 2019 and the application is under re-consideration by DfI.
